Goat Milk

Goat Milk

Goat Milk is one of nature's finest moisturizers and skin softeners due to its high butterfat content. People with very sensitive skin often find that goat milk soaps are very mild and non-irritating. It draws moisture to the skin, softens and nourishes skin, and soothes irritated skin conditions.

Rich in vitamins, goat milk also contains lactic acid, one of the most commonly used alpha hydroxy acids in skin care. Alpha-hydroxy acids penetrate the skin and have rejuvenating effects on skin cells. In addition to lactic acid, goat milk contains fatty acids that can help repair the skin barrier and probiotics that encourage the growth of normal skin flora.

Thanks to its rich fatty acid content, goat milk has skin-soothing properties which may help reduce the redness and itching associated with irritated skin conditions.

There are numerous way to add the benefits of goat milk to a facial routine and there are numerous recipes available on the internet. Here are a few ideas.

  • Apply Directly to the face: Using a cotton pad or clean fingers, gently massage pure goat milk over the face. Allow it to dry for about 30 minutes and then add water to your fingers, massage away and rinse it off.
  • Make a face mask : Add pure goat milk to adzuki bean powder or a facial clay.
  • Make a facial scrub by mixing mix goat milk or goat milk yogurt with honey and oats.
  • The possibilities are endless.

Goat Milk in Soap: Fat molecules are an important part of making good soap and thick and creamy goat milk is rich in both saturated and unsaturated fats, making it an ideal ingredient in a soap recipe. Saturated fats lend a rich, creamy, silky and bubbly quality to the lather, while unsaturated fats provide creamy moisturizing properties.

In hair care, goat milk replenishes the moisture in every strand by penetrating the hair shaft. It nourishes the scalp, adding life, luster, and body to hair.
