Organic Chickweed

Organic Chickweed

Chickweed, Stellaria media, is a fast-growing plant that has been utilized as a folk remedy for many irritated or inflamed skin.

Due to its natural astringent, anti-inflammatory, cooling properties, chickweed helps bring relief from chronic itching caused by eczema, psoriasis, rashes, and general skin irritation.

When combined with moisturizing natural oils and beeswax, this gives chickweed salve the ability to fight skin inflammation, reduce redness, itching, and more.

Chickweed has a long history of use in treating skin afflictions like:

  • rashes and itchiness
  • cuts and scrapes
  • minor burns
  • acne
  • eczema
  • insect bites
  • minor wounds

This little plant has much to offer our skin and when infused in a carrier oil it can also help moisturize dry or chapped skin. Chickweed is also used in poultices to help pull toxins from wounds.

Chickweed gets its common name because chickens love it!
