Organic Cloves

Organic Cloves

Cloves, Syzygium aromaticum, are the aromatic dried flower buds of the clove tree, an evergreen native to Indonesia. Cloves are used as a spice in cuisines all over the world.

Cloves are rich in minerals such as calcium, iron, phosphorus, sodium, potassium, and vitamin A and vitamin C. Cloves are used in Indian Ayurvedic medicine, Chinese medicine, and western herbalism.

Clove oil is made up of between 80 to 95 percent eugenol. Due to its antiseptic and anti-inflammatory properties, eugenol is commonly used by dentists. It is applied to the gums to kill germs and relieve the pain of dental surgery such as tooth extractions, fillings, and root canals.

Due to their antiseptic properties, cloves are often used in skincare products for acne-prone skin.

In hair care, cloves along with other herbs like sage, black walnut hulls, burdock root, and elderberries, help promote healthy hair growth and are useful in bringing out the natural warm tone colors in brunettes.
