Organic Geranium Essential Oil

Geranium essential oil, Pelargonium graveolens, and Rose Geranium (Pelargonium graveolens var. Roseum) have almost identical compositions and properties, making them equally beneficial. Rose geranium essential oil has a more floral scent, which is similar to that of roses. Geranium oil is often compared to rose essential oil because they share almost the same therapeutic traits. In fact, geranium is considered the "poor man's rose." Geranium oil is steam distilled from the leaves and flowers.

Geranium essential oil is suitable for all skin types. Due to its mild, soothing, and healing effects, it has been used in the treatment of skin inflammatory skin conditions. It may help to balance the skin’s natural oil production, minimize the appearance of enlarged pores, ease acne, promote circulation, and liven dull skin. encourage the body’s relaxation, deodorize, promote the faster fading of scars and blemishes, soothe uncomfortable skin ailments, and generally rejuvenate the complexion.

Since geranium oil restores a balance between oily and dry skin and scalp, it is also a great hair care ingredient.

 

Aromatherapy Properties: Geranium essential oil has a lovely, sweet floral relaxing aroma. It creates a calming and grounding effect, balances emotions and hormones, and helps relieve stress, depression, anxiety, insomnia, and mood swings. Its soothing mild sedative effect promotes greater feelings of relaxation, emotional stability, and optimism. For some, the scent is also uplifting and stimulating.

A side note: “Geranium” is the common name of many members of the genus Pelargonium. The bedding Geraniums found in garden centers with large red, pink, or flowers are not the same. These geraniums, known as Pelargonium x hortum, are not used to make essential oil since they have a very faint scent.
