Organic Lavender

Organic Lavender

Lavender, Lavendula officinalis, has anti-inflammatory, anti-bacterial, anti-fungal, and antiseptic properties. Lavender is believed to stimulate the immune system to promote healing and ease inflammation.

The antibacterial, antifungal, and anti-inflammatory properties of this gentle, calming herb make it an exceptional ingredient to infuse into skincare products or to use in a warm bath.  It can help to soothe irritated or inflamed skin conditions, minor burns, cuts, and insect bites.

Just breathing in the fragrance of a lavender blossom can provide aromatherapy benefits. To enjoy it as aromatherapy, use the flowers to make a lavender-infused oil for your skin or a bath tea for a lovely scented bath. Create a sachet, potpourri bag, or use it in a potpourri simmer pot.

Lavender tea provides double benefits since as you inhale the scent you also get the beneficial components of the plant by drinking it.

Fresh lavender flowers are great ingredients to add to recipes. I make a lavender butter cookie in the summer which is delicious. Some Herbs de Provence blends even include lavender buds in their recipe.
