Lemongrass, Cymbopogon citratum, has astringent and tonic properties that make it useful in the treatment of acne and other skin inflammations. Since lemongrass balances skin oil by normalizing oil production it is helpful for oily skin as well as dry skin.
Lemongrass makes tea that has a mild sedative and an aromatic, antiseptic bath.
In hair care, it helps control dandruff.
