Organic Orange Essential Oil

Organic Orange Essential Oil

Sweet Orange essential oil, Citrus sinensis, cold-pressed from the peels of the fruit, has a juicy aroma reminiscent of the fresh fruit. There is also a Bitter Orange essential oil (Citrus aurantium). While sweet orange oil smells like a sweet, fresh orange, bitter orange oil has a more woody and sour scent.

With an energizing aroma that can uplift the mind and body, Orange essential oil has been highly sought after for centuries because of its potent antioxidant and immunity-boosting effects. The folk remedies of the Mediterranean region as well as India, and China used Orange Oil to relieve colds, coughs, chronic fatigue, depression, flu, odors, poor circulation, and skin infections.

A great skin tonic, Orange oil helps stimulate microcirculation, diminish the appearance of pores and ease irritated skin conditions. The oil helps improve the appearance and texture of dull skin by promoting clarity, radiance, and smoothness. It has anti-bacterial, astringent, and cleansing properties and balances skin oil production to help with acne-prone skin.

When used in massage oil, Sweet Orange helps to increase blood flow which may ease the discomfort associated with inflammation and headaches. It is believed to also soothe both muscle and joint pain.

In hair care, citrus oil helps balance the production of sebum. They refresh, invigorate, and cleanse the scalp. Orange essential oil may help decrease scalp bacteria, and reduce dandruff and itchiness by restoring moisture.
